Kairos, a pre-platonic Greek term, is most often defined as the personification of opportunity the most propitious moment the alignment of natural and metaphysical forces creating an environment for an opening to occur, a moment pregnant with possibility. It is a moment in which we are connected to the Creator, being in and of the One who created us all, and free from the imposition of mans artificial chronological time of past, present and future, one hour following the next, the measured, sequential events of our days. Un bound by chronos, or chronological time, we are in tune with our true natures, as we were created to be, a moment in which the waves find their true rest and nature, their real temperament. It is a moment in which all the fullness of Gods blessings and abundance exist all at once, a moment of complete harmony and balance, opportunity and fulfillment, a time of new thought, new direction, a season during which something unique and profound is ripe to occur which may never come again. It is critical, crucial time, a time of decisions, a time to act, to seize the day. It is this time that William Shakespeare wrote of when he said, there is a tide in the affairs of men which taken at the flood, leads on to victory, omitted, all the voyages of their life are bound in shallows and misery. Kairos is Gods time, a reality which encompasses all at once, past , present and future. God is not controlled by clocks and calendars, which are man made inventions. Our eternal God transcends time and space, and in every moment of eternity, in each second, minute, hour, God is present and at work, in the world and in each of us. Kairos denotes Gods full presence and all sufficient, bounteous grace breaking into the material dimension of reality, breaking into our lives in glorious and unexpected ways. A moment poised on the precipice of something new, momentous and wondrous about to unfold. A time in which everything we could ever need is present to fulfill that magnificent moment.
